Eight lines from list price to landed price

Stack every line between a list price and a parcel in your hands, and see which two lines carry the most weight.

Quick answer

A Joyagoo shipping cost is not one number: it is the item price plus domestic freight, the service line, QC and packing, chargeable-weight international freight, destination tax and a handling fee. The waterfall stacks all eight and names the two lines worth compressing first.

Lines 1–5 · what is paid before the parcel moves

Charged on the item price. Change it here and the page labels the parameters as manual.

Line 6 · chargeable weight drives the freight

Required: without a per-kilogram price the freight line cannot be estimated.
Fill this in only when parcels were actually merged; the saving line appears below.

Lines 7–8 · once the parcel lands

Applied to the item price plus the international freight.

Two lines carrying the most weight

  • International freight: 220.00 (42.6% of the landed cost)
  • Item price: 200.00 (38.7% of the landed cost)

Optional merge fill-in: enter the chargeable weight from before merging to see the freight difference on its own line.

The freight line is charged on volume: 4.00 kg against 2.00 kg on a scale.

How the calculation runs

chargeable weight (kg) = max(actual weight, length × width × height ÷ 1000) unless a volumetric weight is entered directly
line 1 item price; line 2 domestic shipping; line 3 item price × service rate; line 4 QC and photo fee
line 5 packing and reinforcement fee; line 6 chargeable weight × freight price per kg
line 7 (item price + international freight) × destination tax rate; line 8 carrier handling fee
landed cost = the eight lines added together
share of each line = line amount ÷ landed cost
merge saving = chargeable weight before merging − chargeable weight after merging, multiplied by the freight price per kg
the two lines with the largest share are printed as the compression candidates; if they tie, the earlier line is listed first

Parameters and the date they were checked

Parameters checked 2026-10-06. The defaults on this page are the values we recorded when we last read the relevant pages, and they are listed with the same date on the sources page. Change any rate, fee or day count and the tool labels itself manual, so a figure you supplied is never mistaken for one we recorded.

Three ways to use it

  1. Enter the item price and the freight price per kilogram first, then read the shares: those two lines usually decide the total, and everything else moves it by a few percent.
  2. Leave the volumetric field empty if you know the box sides; the tool will compute the volumetric weight and tell you which side of the comparison is in charge.
  3. Fill the weight before merging only when you actually merged parcels; the saving line appears only then, and it is an estimate at your stated freight price per kilogram.

Questions this tool gets

Why does the chargeable weight sit in the middle of the waterfall?

Because it is the one input that changes another line rather than adding one. The freight line is charged per kilogram, so which side of the actual-versus-volumetric comparison wins decides how large that line is; every line below it inherits the difference.

How is the compression candidate chosen?

By share of the landed total, largest first, two lines deep. Item price is included, because the most effective lever is often the row you chose rather than the service you chose. The tool prints candidates, not advice: whether a line can move depends on facts it cannot see.

Where it stops being reliable

Boundaries and exceptions

  • A missing freight price per kilogram stops the calculation, because the freight line cannot be estimated from a placeholder rate.
  • Any negative line is rejected: a credit belongs in a lower item price, not in a negative fee.
  • A landed cost above ten times the item price returns a units warning, which in practice means a weight was typed in grams where kilograms were expected.
  • The two pressure candidates are ranked by share alone. A small line can be the easiest one to move, and this page will not say otherwise.
